“The Bucket List” (Word of Encouragement 27 August 2023)
We desire to enhance our lives with wish lists or bucket lists and hope that fulfilling these will bring total contentment.
We desire to enhance our lives with wish lists or bucket lists and hope that fulfilling these will bring total contentment. We humans place at the top of our list of goals things like “make lots of money”, “become important in the workplace or community”, “accumulate possessions”and so on. The attainment of these goals may bring temporary accolades, pleasure or security but “you can’t take it with you”! Our Lord also desires that we do well and have a good life. We consider Psalm 37:4 which says, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” Finding delight in our Lord, helps us fulfill our dreams and attain goals we have listed on what we call our “bucket lists”.
